Governors in the six Southwest states are set to launch in October a new security outfit to be known as Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN). According to reports the six governors, they (the governors) are putting finishing touches to the inauguration of the security outfit, following the Approval in Principle given by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) for the zone to establish a Joint Task Force (JTF) to tackle killings, banditry and kidnapping in the Southwest.
Recall that the governors rose from a security summit in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in July, where they decided to defend their domain. According to an insider source, the six governors have procured the patrol vans to be used by the outfit in readiness for the launch by October.
